Hi Gregg
It's more than 5 months since we met in Leeds, and it's taken me a while to get round to reading your excellent and interesting report on the Lakes/Dales walk.
My first reaction is that I want to be in the Lakes again. You were blessed with great weather, especially at the start. My second thought is how very lucky I am to have passed my youth in such lovely surroundings with people who helped me get out into the hills and dales.
I can assure you that the range of ales in England continues expanding (like the universe, at an accelerating rate) so you will need to return to continue your vital research. Tell Cathryn I said so!
Kind regards
Pete

Hi Gregg
I've been reading my way through your journals and am thoroughly enjoying myself. My husband and I have done the C2C and are now in the planning stages for the WHW then continuing on to the Great Glen Way to Inverness. From there we might take a trip to the Shetlands or plan a route to walk to Edinburgh before heading to Newcastle and Hadrian's Wall. We may end up going twice to Britain next year depending on when our friends want to walk Hadrian's Wall. For us going in May/June is lovely especially for the wild flowers and bird species so we may end up going back in September to do Hadrian's and combine it with a canal boat trip. LDW is a fantastic way to enjoy a country and we have done this type of trip for the last few years. If you're ever up our way give us an email. We head your way periodically as our son is a professor at U Of C Santa Cruz.
Happy Walking.
Rosemary
